Meet singles popups, emails, and virtually every other know medium of advertising, but what is the process really like. "Meet singles" used to mean going to clubs and doing the scene, but now there are millions of people connected to the internet, right? It only makes since that they would invent some way of turning this to your advantage, and lucky for you, they have. Meet singles sites are all over the internet, as we said, though... and you have to be careful. Yes, there are lots of scammers and many more ways to spot them than we can cover in this article, but we will give you some pointers to start with, and that should keep you from getting in a mess with one of them. |

Meet Singles without the hassle. Anywhere that says "free" but still wants a credit card is probably trying to scam
you. Read the fine print and you will probably see they are giving you a free trial, but automatically planning to bill you after the
trial ends. Usually a couple of days, but we have seen it as short as three minutes. Not much of a trial, huh? Also, watch for anyone
who you've never heard of before. The friend finder networks (AFF, etc) have been around longer than anyone, so you have probably heard
of them directly, but then there are others such as yahoo, msn, match, etc. These guys aren't going to compare to the AFF service, not
even come close, but you know you can trust them. For instance, Match is a free trail, so you can bet they aren't going to take your
money because they are AOL, same with msn. Then there is yahoo (2nd largest, behind aff) who has a free membership. You just can't do
anything with it, but you won't get ripped off.

We are affiliated with them because we recommend them, not the other way around - but if you want to try for yourself, they not only give you a free membership that won't limit your abilities to the point you can't really use the service, but they are the biggest around and you have a better chance of meeting someone - which is what it is all about anyway, right. |
| But I digress, you are here to read about all the services, not just one. Off the soapbox and back to the article. Keep an eye out for sites that won't let you look into their database before joining. What is the point in either wasting your time or money on a service if you can't peek in and see first what is there? No point. For instance, with aff (yes, I am talking about them again) you can search their database before you even join up for free. Try it - any link on this page will take you there. |

| Another thing to keep in mind is the functionality. Matching is a science, you gotta know what questions to ask, and how to match them up with other answers to make the profiles fit. Searching capabilities are a must, but matching should be part of the search so that, once again, you aren't wasting your time. |
