Match Com , or AFF? Match Com verses Adult Friend Finder. Match Com (dot held) and the friend finder networks are the closes rivals in the online personal ads business. Match com and aff both claim to be the largest, and both can back that claim up with third party data. Match com holds claim to 250 thousand paying subscribers while aff shows to have just short of twenty million active members. Match com claims to have the most unique daily visitors, but then so does friend finder. Match com and aff both would like you to believe they are the biggest because obviously the biggest will give you the best chance of finding your soulmate.

Match Com (MC from here on) and aff can both be searched on Alexa, and Alexa shows aff to clearly be the largest by volume of unique traffic per day. Also, it is an industry fact that paying membership to free membership ratios are 1/25, so while aff is the only one releasing total active membership numbers, one can surmise that in reality the friend finder networks take them at nearly 250% of total membership base. But is this the only criteria for being the best? No, obviously there must be other factors - longevity for one. Aff was founded in 1996 and has always been in the business of personal ads. Conveniently, MC claims to have been in this business since 1995. This may be the case, but a simple whois on their site shows the domain they use didn't even exist before 1998.

Match Com is not being deceptive, in our opinion, this may simply be a DNS error. We didn't ask but it is an interesting fact none the less. Also, MC is by no means a bad, inadequate, or inferior company. They are in fact an excellent company. In our opinion, they simply are not the caliber of friend finder's service and we therefore recommend for the best results that you stick with aff.

Both companies do have free memberships, so if you don't want to take our word for it, you can always start out with both. We are confident that ultimately you will find we are correct in this opinion, but we encourage you to do what you feel most comfortable with. It is your choice.
